Biochemistry Subject Matter Expert (AI Training)
About The Role
We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more scientifically rigorous AI — and we need expert biochemists to make it happen. As a Biochemistry Subject Matter Expert, your deep knowledge of molecular biology, enzyme kinetics, and metabolic systems will directly shape how AI reasons through complex scientific problems.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed to fit around your existing schedule. No prior AI experience required — your scientific expertise is what matters.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Challenging Problems — Create advanced biochemistry problems spanning nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, enzyme kinetics, and drug-target interactions to rigorously stress-test AI performance
- Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning in AI systems
- Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for scientific accuracy, safety, and adherence to established standards
- Refine AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors — such as incorrect stoichiometry, flawed stereochemistry, or misapplied biochemical principles — and deliver structured feedback to improve model performance
- Work Independently — Complete task-based assignments asynchronously on your own schedule

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
