Astute’s Renewable Energy team is partnering with a UK leading business in anaerobic digestion that provides cost-effective, low carbon, food and organic waste management. We are looking to recruit an experienced Plant Manager for their site in North Warwickshire
The strategically important Plant Manager role comes with a salary of up to £65,000 life assurance, employer pension and additional benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Manager role
Reporting To The Area Manager You Will
- Optimising process plant operations
- Managing feedstock processing and planning
- Weekly and monthly reporting of plant efficiency, trends and analysing data
- Providing the highest level of safety and environmental standards, HAZOP, DSEAR, ATEX control measures
- Managing the site in compliance with COMAH regulations
- Providing solutions to technical variances
- Site maintenance and coordination of PPM
- Be part of on call and weekend shift cover
- Be responsible for cost control and budgets
- Managing external contractors when necessary
- Drafting RAMS and being accountable for HSE
- Managing the relationships with external bodies, such as the Environmental Agency
- Managing on site colleagues, such as Operators and Engineers and be responsible for development and training
- Capable of first line mechanical maintenance and raising more complex faults to an on-call-team
- Other duties as required

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, such as chemical or mechanical is an advantage
- Mobile Plant (telehandler, loading shovel) licence or time served experience
- WAMITAB or a willingness to work towards
- NEBOSH or willingness to train towards
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
Personal skills
The Plant Manager Role Would Suit Someone Who Is
- Experienced in anaerobic digestion or a similar heavy processing environment at a managerial or supervisory level
- Experience working on a COMAH regulated site
- Hands on a leads by example
- Excellent computer literacy
- A mentality towards a continuous improvement and a genuine passion for the industry
- Excellent people management skills
