Biogas Plant Operator
Astute’s Renewables team is seeking a motivated, hardworking Biogas Plant Operator to join their team in Scunthorpe. This role operates under a 4 on, 4 off day shift pattern and includes participation in an on-call rota following proper training.

About the Role
The Biogas Plant Operator plays a vital role in maintaining and operating renewable energy processes while adhering to strict safety and operational standards. This position blends hands-on maintenance with process monitoring, requiring both technical aptitude and discretion.

Words directly from the role guidelines: You will:
- Operate daily processes of the renewable energy plant
- Monitor systems using SCADA controls (training provided)
- Conduct routine maintenance, including pump replacements, greasing, lubrication, and filter changes
- Assist biologists with analysis (training provided)
- Feed fuel to processes using mobile plant equipment (e.g., telehandlers)
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety protocols
- Become eligible for on-call shifts upon successful training

Qualifications & Experience
Professional Requirements
- Relevant engineering certification/qualification (advantageous, but not mandatory)
- Driving licence: Full and valid UK licence (essential)
- Existing telehandler or plant tickets (e.g., loading shovel, tractor, etc.) (Non-essential, but a major benefit)
Personal Skills
- Experience operating in similar outdoor mechanical environments
- Hands-on first-line maintenance skills
- Renowned interest in renewable energy
- Professional work ethic and a desire to contribute to a supportive team
