Tutor - English for Academic Purposes

Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum pro rata
We are looking for a Mathematics & Information Technology Tutor to join our team.
As a Tutor, you will deliver engaging and effective teaching to international students preparing for undergraduate and postgraduate study at the University of Nottingham. You will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their academic goals, develop subject knowledge, and build the skills required for success in higher education.
We are looking for a passionate educator with expertise in Biology and a commitment to providing an outstanding student experience. The successful candidate will be able to deliver high-quality teaching, create a positive and inclusive learning environment, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the curriculum.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and driven tutor to make a significant impact on students’ academic journeys in collaborative and supportive work environment. What you’ll bring to the role
- A student-centred approach and the ability to plan, facilitate and review engaging learning experiences that enable all students to achieve and flourish.
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of international students in transition to studying Higher Education in the UK.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across a range of teams and to use data to continually improve the student experience.
- Demonstrable experience of using digital technologies, including AI, to enhance learning, assessment and student engagement, together with a willingness to embrace innovation.
- Flexibility and resilience to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
- The ability to develop and continually enhance innovative learning materials that support active, inclusive and engaging learning.
- A strong commitment to continuous professional development and evidence of using this to enhance teaching practice and the student experience.
- Experience of teaching post-16 students (a recognised teaching qualification would be an advantage).
- A postgraduate qualification is desirable; however, a strong first degree and/or relevant professional experience will also be considered.
