Our client is seeking an experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join their Histology department in Huntingdon.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly regarded diagnostic laboratory with a long-standing reputation for delivering exceptional histopathology services. Working within a modern, quality focused laboratory, you'll contribute to providing accurate and timely diagnostic results that support a wide range of clinical services including acute care, IVF, GP referrals and health screening.
As a key member of the laboratory team, you'll use your technical expertise to perform specialist histology procedures while helping to maintain the highest standards of quality and service delivery. You'll also have the opportunity to support continuous improvement initiatives, contribute to training and mentoring colleagues, and play an active role in maintaining laboratory accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a broad range of routine and specialist histology techniques to support diagnostic services.
- Ensure laboratory work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Perform independent troubleshooting and investigations to maintain service quality.
- Assist with quality management activities, including quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Support compliance with ISO 15189:2022 and UKAS accreditation requirements.
- Contribute to service improvement projects and help maintain efficient laboratory workflows.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to junior staff and new team members.

About You
- BSc in Biomedical Science.
- HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.
- Diploma of Specialist Practice (or equivalent qualification).
- Previous experience working within a Histology laboratory.
- Strong practical knowledge of routine histology techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-focused services.
