JOB TITLE: BIOMEDICAL SCIENTIST IN HISTOLOGY
Banding: Band 6
Location: Derby
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
Working Pattern: Core hours only
Hourly Rate: £14-30
We are currently seeking a Band 4-6 Biomedical Scientist or Associate Practitioner specialising in Histology to join our client’s team in Derbyshire. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will process and embed tissue samples, perform microtomy, and stain slides for microscopic examination. You will support pathologists in diagnostic reporting.

Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent

Experience in Histology within a clinical laboratory

Experience with microtomy and staining techniques

Strong attention to detail

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

NHS experience (preferred)
