Algorithms Software Engineer – Biosensor Systems
Digital Healthcare | Analog Devices
The Digital Healthcare business group seeks an Algorithms Software Engineer to develop cutting-edge biosensor systems for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. These systems integrate electrochemical and optical sensors, microfluidics, measurement electronics, and software to deliver highly accurate and reliable biomarker measurements.
Core differentiators of these systems include signal processing, data analytics, and machine-learning-enabled algorithms.
Role Overview
The ideal candidate will take a hands-on, proactive role in developing core algorithms for a critical biosensor program. This involves:
- Collaborating closely with the algorithm lead, sensor design engineers, and software teams
- Developing, prototyping, and refining algorithms using real-world experimental data
- Solving complex sensing problems where solutions are not always immediately evident
This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives on in-depth algorithm development, enjoys problem-solving in ambiguous environments, and appreciates working with laboratory data.
Key Responsibilities
Algorithm Development & Data Analytics
- Own end-to-end algorithm development, from concept to prototyping and performance evaluation.
- Build Python-based algorithms for post-processing and analysing raw sensor data collected in lab settings.
- Use signal processing techniques to extract robust features from noisy real-world sensor signals.
- Explore and utilise machine learning methods to enhance accuracy, robustness, and reliability.
- Combine classical signal processing and data-driven approaches strategically.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
