The role
We’re looking for a compassionate and practical Bioservices Technician to join our Bioservices team at the Moredun Group.
This is a hands-on role working primarily with farm livestock, requiring prior practical experience in agricultural animal care. You’ll work with a range of animals and equipment. This role offers a strong focus on learning and development, with hands-on training involving a variety of agricultural animals and machinery.
This is a full-time position; however, part-time applications will also be considered.

Salary: £25,949 (additional payments apply for on-call duties and overtime)
Role requirements
- Providing daily care, feeding and cleaning for a range of animal species
- Monitoring animal health and welfare, recognising signs of illness or distress
- Maintaining clean, safe and appropriate animal accommodation
- Supporting scientific procedures in line with approved protocols
- Keeping accurate records and supporting high standards of biosecurity
- Using and maintaining equipment and machinery (training provided)
You’ll work under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, with full training and support provided.

Essential Requirements
- Practical experience in animal husbandry or animal care
- Confidence and compassion when handling animals
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Requirements
- Animal science or related qualification
- Experience with multiple species
- Experience in laboratory or research environments
- Home Office licence
