Biotech Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your expertise in biotech and clinical data could directly shape how AI understands and works with life sciences research? We're looking for a Biotech Health Data Governance Lead to ensure that research and clinical trial data is accurate, traceable, compliant, and ready to power scientific discovery, regulatory filings, and advanced AI-driven analytics.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. If you have a strong background in data governance within regulated biotech or life sciences environments and a sharp eye for data quality, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do
- Govern biotech research and clinical trial data to ensure accuracy, lineage, and auditability for scientific analysis and regulatory submissions
- Define and enforce data policies covering classification, access, security, and metadata across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams
- Enable secure, governed access to data for analytics, innovation, and external collaborations while protecting confidential and patient-related information
- Identify gaps in data quality and implement standards that support both scientific rigor and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with scientific, IT, compliance, and business teams to align data workflows and governance frameworks
- Support AI training initiatives by ensuring biotech datasets meet high standards of quality, integrity, and trustworthiness

Who You Are
- Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs within biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data environments
- Strong working knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance expectations for research and clinical trial data
- Able to bridge the gap between scientific, technical, and compliance stakeholders to drive consistent data standards
- Detail-oriented and systematic — you understand that in regulated environments, the integrity of data is everything
- Comfortable working independently and asynchronously in a remote, flexible setting

Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GCP, HIPAA, or GDPR as applied to clinical and research data
- Background in bioinformatics, clinical data management, or research informatics
- Experience working alongside AI or machine learning teams in a data stewardship capacity
