Purpose
To support the delivery of elite-level performance within the Birmingham Panthers Netball Super League squad. Working closely with the Head Coach, playing a key role in preparing the squad for the 2026 NSL season and delivering success on the court. This role is primarily focused on the professional environment and the demands of top-flight netball, delivering a progressive, exciting style that reflects the franchise’s ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching Delivery
- Plan and deliver high-quality training sessions, supporting the Head Coach in implementing game plans and season strategy
- Lead or support technical and tactical coaching in line with individual strengths (e.g. attack, defence, centre court)
- Support player development and readiness through consistent, high-performance training standards

Match Preparation & Performance
- Assist with weekly match preparation including opposition analysis and tactical planning
- Support in matchday roles including warm-ups, in-game decision-making, and bench management
- Contribute to post-match review and performance debriefs
Video & Data Analysis
- Use performance analysis tools to review training and match footage
- Provide insight and feedback to individual players and coaching staff
- Contribute to opposition scouting and tactical breakdowns
Collaboration & Culture
- Work in close collaboration with the Head Coach to maintain a high-performance culture within the squad
- Support the creation of a cohesive, competitive, and resilient playing group
- Contribute positively to the leadership and tone of the NSL environment
- Be an active contributor across the wider franchise, supporting the development of the pathway and assisting with on-court delivery where needed
- Use experience and leadership to mentor and guide emerging coaches within the Panthers system, helping to build consistency and alignment across the club

Key Characteristics
- Innovative and progressive coach with a commitment to player development and team success
- Effective communicator, able to build trust across coaching staff, players, and support teams
- Inclusive and collaborative contributing to a positive culture
- Organised and analytical supporting the delivery of high standards of preparation and performance
Experience Required
- Proven experience coaching within an elite or professional netball league environment
- Strong technical and tactical understanding of the game, with a specialism in a specific court area preferred
- Ability to deliver engaging, athlete-led sessions with intensity and clarity
- Confident working in a high-pressure, competitive setting
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Experience with performance analysis tools and interpreting data effectively
Certifications Required
- UKCC Level 2 (minimum) or international equivalent
- Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check to be undertaken
- Current Safeguarding and First Aid certifications
Contract Details
- Part-time role running through pre-season and competitive season
- Evening training sessions and weekend matchday availability required
