Bistro and Catering Manager
Belong are a not-for-profit values based employer in the North West, our Villages which we are pioneers of services for older people, creating vibrant village communities and specialising in supporting people to live well with dementia. A rare opportunity has arisen for a Bistro and Catering Manager If you are a chef with ambition, sound leadership, and the ability to set high standards, then we have a fabulous opportunity for you!. Great taste is the order of the day, as you orchestrate exceptional quality catering and customer service across the care village’s bistro, households and functions rooms. As the Bistro and Catering Manager you will be: Commercially astute with the ability to maximise financial performance and manage budgets Compassionate, with the expertise to recruit, coach and lead a skilled catering team and work with our Household teams to provide homemade nutrition meals Customer focussed, working with the team to exceed expectations Experienced in creating menus for a wide range of diets and ages, including the children attending our ground breaking intergenerational nursery. Teach and guide your team Hours per week 37.5 Salary- £35,526 Due to the role being central in our villages you will need to complete a enhanced Adult DBS check as part of our recruitment checks. Demonstrates qualities to deliver belong vision and values appropriate to this level, committed to delivering excellent customer service Ability to communicate professionally at all levels Proven experience of leading, performance managing and developing teams and individuals to ensure excellent customer service Strong business acumen with experience of maximising profitability ; budgetary control, stock control, orders and dealing with suppliers Ability to manage competing deadlines and plan/ prioritise work, remaining calm under pressure Proficient use of Microsoft Office and IT skills with the ability to use bespoke software Ability to undertake moving & handling of loads including the operation of commercial catering equipment Experience of catering for large numbers e.g. 50 or more Award for Personal License Holders (APLH) Level 2 or equivalent Good understanding of H&S Regulations, COSHH and HACCP Diploma level 3 in Professional Cooking Diploma in Hospitality Management Level 4 or equivalent (essential or working/prepared to work towards) Reliable and able to fulfil contracted hours and work patterns e.g. days and weekends Holds a current driving license and access to a vehicle Confidently builds productive and positive relationships with colleagues, customers, visitors and professionals Desirable Good understanding of the dietary needs of older people or people with a physical, cognitive or sensory impairment Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
