Blade Factory Complex Composite Blade Repair Technician
GEV Wind Power US is seeking experienced Blade Factory Complex Composite Blade Repair Technicians with expertise in performing Category 4 and Category 5 composite blade repairs. In this role, you will carry out complex composite blade repairs on the factory floor.
Ideal candidates are safety-focused, physically capable, and highly skilled in composite repair techniques, including epoxy and polyester resins, fiberglass reinforcement, and balsa and foam core materials.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform composite blade repairs (up to Category 5 and specialty repairs) on the factory floor.
- Utilise epoxy and polyester resin wet lay-up, vacuum infusion, and balsa/foam sandwich materials.
- May conduct structural blade repair assignments.
- Complete detailed Daily Progress Reports and QA/QC reports, following Quality Checkpoints.
- Optional travel to wind farms across North America in an 8/1 rotation (if required).
Job Requirements
We are looking for reliable, technical individuals with:
Experience and Skill Set
- 5+ years of high-quality composite blade repair experience (all types).
- Proficiency in:
- Epoxy and polyester resins
- Wet lay-up and vacuum bag techniques
- Balsa/foam core materials
- Fiberglass reinforcement
- Ability to safely operate powered hand tools
- Strong manual dexterity (precision with hand and power tools).
- Understanding of repair specifications
- Ability to read/interpret complex technical drawings
- Experience with IT tools (email, internet, iPad).

Physical and Personal Fit
- Teamwork, adaptability, and leadership potential when required.
- Excellent health and vitality for strenuous tasks:
- Ladder/scaffolding climbing
- Crawling, bending, stooling
- Lifting up to 75 lb (34 kg)
- Wearing protective equipment/respirator
- Clear vision (with corrective lenses if necessary).
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR record, age 21+.
- Legal working authorisation, background check clearance, and drug testing compliance.
Required Certifications
- GWO BST (Basic Safety Training: fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid).
- GWO ART (Advanced Rescue Training).
- GWO Slinger Signaller or Siemens Rigging Safety.
- Blade Repair or Advanced Blade Repair certification.
- Spot Paint certification.
- OSHA 10 General Industry training.
- EHS Regional Compliance (preferred; assistance provided).
- Rigging Safety.
- SGRE Blade C or Blade D certification (preferred, but not mandatory).
