Block Plant Production Supervisor

Description
We are currently seeking an Block Plant Supervisor to join our small, friendly team at our Naunton Block Plant based in our fantastic Naunton Quarry, Gloucestershire. Located in the beautiful Cotswolds, Naunton is a lovely place to work; reporting into the Block Plant Manager you’ll have plenty of support to develop and grow within your role.
As Block Plant Supervisor, you’ll take the lead in supporting our production teams and oversee quality, material management and supporting our distribution and commercial teams. But it’s not all administration, you’ll still be getting your hands dirty; working alongside and leading the production team to keep everything running smoothly!
Key Responsibilities
Achieving Operational Excellence
- To improve H&S by demonstrating a proactive involvement, promoting a positive health and safety culture.
- To have a positive working relationship with colleagues and others
- To understand and implement all work procedures across the site.
- To achieve agreed production targets
- Generate improvement ideas to develop the site to produce a more efficient product.
- To have knowledge of relevant company policies, procedures and national guidelines.
- To lead your team in a positive manner to achieve standards required e.g H&S, Quality, Volumes
Ensuring Effective Running of the site
- Work effectively and efficiently with colleagues to ensure both individual responsibilities and team objectives are met.
- Manage your team and equipment efficiently to ensure daily production targets are met
- Ensure plant within your area of responsibility is up to standard and in good clean condition.
- Inform line manager of resource deficit or issues that affects safety or production targets.
- Report any under performance of individuals or malfunction of plant to your line manager
- Communicate effectively with all your main interfaces
- To be proactive and flexible in providing assistance with operational requirements
- To ensure material required to meet production targets is available at all times

Production Management
- Ensure allocated tasks are completed within the required time scales as per the site production plan to achieve daily production targets.
- Participate in site operational meetings when required
- Promote company policy and guidelines.
- Work as part of a team to achieve tight deadlines and maintain high standards.
- Report any production issues to line manager
- Ensure all documentation that is required within your area of responsibility is completed by your team.
Managing People
- Provide support to the Operatives within your role to ensure strong leadership of the team displaying and promoting a positive working attitude.
- Issue concise instructions in order to ensure a safe working environment and achieve production targets.
- Motivate team members and promote personal development.
- To develop the team to perform at optimum levels and to promote a team working environment so that all team members are proactive in their work and achieve optimum performance standards.
- Identify training needs within the team and work with the Production Supervisor to ensure training gaps are filled where necessary.
- Provide training to individuals where necessary or allocate resources efficiently to achieve this.
- Identify and areas of concern within the team relating to performance or conduct and act accordingly with Breedon Policy and reporting it to your line manager
Health and Safety
- Comply at all times with Breedon Health and Safety rules and procedures in accordance with Company Health and safety policy and site specific rules and enforce this within your team.
- Actively promote a positive health and safety culture.
- Ensure there is adequate communication regarding health and safety within your area of responsibility and with other areas/functions within the organisation as required.
- To promote that health and safety is of number 1 importance on site at all times.
- Ensure good hygiene standards are met within your team
- Providing a safe and healthy working environment for everyone within an area of responsibility.
- To inform line manager at the earliest opportunity of any health and safety issues within your area of responsibility. (Raise 4 off safety observations per Month)
