Blood Donation Team Assistant (Bank)

Casual Role: Welcome & Support Assistant (Blood Collection)

Job Summary

Join our team of casual workers supporting blood collection efforts on an ad-hoc basis. This role demands flexibility, availability at short notice, and an ability to adapt to changing work hours and locations.

ideal for those with a warm, welcoming approach and no need for medical qualifications. Training will be provided.

Hours and locations: Variable, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays. Blood collections can take place in multiple sites, requiring travel (up to two hours) via our vehicles or your own vehicle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the blood collection team to welcome donors and manage the refreshment area post-donation.
  • Handling blood bags and associated equipment with care.
  • Assisting with equipment load/unload—including heavy objects up to 13kg.
  • Attending disks as required (evenings, weekends, bank holidays).
  • Assembling/dismantling setup as needed per collection requirements.

About You

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with the public (essential for a welcoming approach).
  • Proficiency in numeracy and literacy (basic level required).

Skills or prior experience in medical settings are not mandatory. A friendly personality and adaptability are what we value most.
