About The Role

Salary Details

The salary will be remunerated pro rata (0.4 FTE) on the relevant Clinical pay scale dependant on qualifications and experience.

We are looking to appoint a talented clinical educator as the Community Placement Lead (Devon). This part-time post (0.4FTE) is available immediately on a permanent basis and offers the opportunity for hybrid working – primarily on campus and some from home. The expectation is of two fixed days working per week, but this can vary due to clinical and educational commitments with the agreement of the line manager.

The role

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the community placement programme in the locality, and contribute to the development, expansion and quality management of the primary care curriculum. This will be in collaboration with the locality team in Devon, and the Community Directors in other localities and the Programme Directors.

As the Community Placement Lead, the role holder will be a leader in supporting and developing our culture as an intrinsic part of the clinical development of our students as future doctors. The role holder will work alongside the Director of Community Placements and the Director of Hospital Placements (Devon). They will work in a collaborative team with the Director of Community Placements and the Community Placement Lead in Cornwall.

The successful candidate will have ongoing experience as a senior clinician in primary care and hold GMC Registration with a licence to practice and be on the GP Register.
