BMC Helix - Tech Lead / Developer
About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced BMC Helix Technical Lead or Developer to drive a transformation project, focusing on ITSM and IT Operations Modernization (ITOM).
⚠️ Critical prerequisite:
- Active security clearance OR readiness to reactivate expired or obtain new clearance.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Design, architect, and deliver BMC Helix / BMC Remedy ITSM solutions across key domains:
- Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, CMDB, and Discovery
- Lead service modeling, CMDB architecture, data reconciliation, and normalization
- Integrate Helix solutions with OSS/BSS systems within telecom environments
- Ensure compliance with cloud deployments (AWS/Azure) and SaaS security/compliance frameworks
Development & Customization
- Implement Event Management, Discovery, Integration Service, and automation workflows in BMC Helix ITOM
- Develop codeless applications, custom objects, and data models using Helix Innovation Studio
- Customize BMC AR System architecture, including:
- Workflow automation
- Forms, filters, and escalations
- APIs and REST/SOAP integrations
- Webhook implementations
- Maximize out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities before introducing customizations

Quality, Scalability & Optimization
- Define technical standards and development guidelines aligned with BMC Helix architecture
- Debug and resolve issues across SIT/UAT/Production by analyzing:
- AR System logs
- API traces
- CMDB data
- Platform diagnostics
- Develop automation tools, utilities, and deployment frameworks to enhance team efficiency
Stakeholder & Governance Collaboration
- Engage with telecom technology and architecture teams in governance forums
- Align solutions with enterprise technology strategy for scalable, secure implementations

Essential Experience & Qualifications
Industry & Technical Expertise (10+ Years Required)
✔ Telecom domain experience – Full SDLC (design, development, delivery) ✔ Proven BMC Helix Technical Lead / Solution Architect experience, ideally in Tier 1/2 telecom environments ✔ Hands-on 5+ years implementing/architecting BMC Helix (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery)
Technical Proficiencies
- BMC Helix ITOM specialist (Event Mgmt, Discovery, Integration Service, automation)
- AR System master (workflows, forms, filters, escalations, APIs)
- REST/SOAP integration expertise with telecom IT systems (webhooks, data interfaces)
- Cloud-focused BMC Helix (AWS/Azure deployments, SaaS security/compliance)
- Helix Innovation Studio (codeless dev, custom objects, data models)
Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory)
- BMC Helix ITSM/IOM certifications (a plus but not deal-breaker)
