BMS Commissioning Engineer
BMS Commissioning Engineer
We’re looking for a BMS Commissioning Engineer to join our specialist team at Vital Energi, where you’ll oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of plantrooms, solar farms, and boiler rooms. This role involves travel across the UK.

Vital Energi is a leading provider of renewable energy infrastructure, working with hospitals, universities, commercial projects, and industrial clients to support decarbonisation efforts. Our innovative projects, including the £1 billion Westiminster low-carbon infrastructure scheme, aligned with the UK’s Net Zero targets.
We’re scaling rapidly, with plans to double our headcount in the coming years and expanding into new markets such as Energy-from-Waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans, risk assessments, and method statements
- Perform PLC programming and configuration
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues, escalating where necessary
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients throughout the commissioning process
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies
- Plan, manage, and execute commissioning activities across:
- Solar farms
- Energy centres
- Boiler houses
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the commissioning department
- Travel across the UK as part of the role

Requirements
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering
- Proven commissioning experience in energy, utilities, or renewables sectors
- Strong understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and electrical safety
- Experience or knowledge of renewable energy technologies (e.g., heat pumps, solar) is an advantage
- Full UK manual driving licence
