BMS SERVICE ENGINEER

Carbon60 is looking to recruit a BMS Service Engineer to work for our specialised industrial client Equans based in Greater London & Cambridge area.

PAY RATE

£27.26/per hour PAYE

CONTRACT TYPE

3 Months contract (Potentially perm.)

LOCATION

Greater London & Cambridge area.

(this position will require SC/CTC Clearance)

HOURS

40:00 hours per week (flexible hours), Monday to Friday, 07:00 AM to 19:00 PM

THE ROLE

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults on BMS and HVAC control systems.
  • Install, configure, test, and commission BMS controllers, sensors, actuators, and associated equipment.
  • Work on Trend, Tridium (Niagara), Distech, Siemens and other BMS platforms.
  • Attend reactive breakdowns and participate in the on-call rota.
  • Perform software updates, minor programming modifications, and system optimisation.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend energy-saving or remedial improvements.
  • Prepare quotations and proposals for remedial or improvement works.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
  • Produce accurate service reports and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company and site procedures.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS/BEMS) and HVAC controls.
  • Knowledge & experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara/Distech/Siemens
  • Experience carrying out PPM, fault finding, servicing and commissioning of BMS systems.
  • Ability to diagnose faults within electrical control panels.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
  • Good understanding of electrical systems and building services.
  • Basic knowledge of IT networks.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Good report writing and communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to obtain/pass a DBS check.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and occasional out-of-hours work.
