BMS Engineer
Location: Bristol & surrounding areas (with travel nationwide required) Role Type: Field-based
As a BMS Engineer at Honeywell, you’ll contribute to transforming buildings by improving safety, operational efficiency, and energy performance. This role involves hands-on work across installations, maintenance, project support, and customer service for Building Management Systems (BMS) and related controls systems.
About the Role
Honeywell Building Automation delivers integrated hardware, software, and services to optimise building performance. Your work will directly impact the quality and safety of spaces people occupy, creating smarter, more efficient environments.
The role offers a mix of reactive and proactive support, including:
- On-site installations and quoted projects
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and out-of-hours emergency responses
- Extensive travel nationwide (South West + further afield as needed)

Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Honeywell BMS controllers, field control systems, and associated hardware software
- Commission small automation and control projects, ensuring integration meets client requirements
- Modify, interrogate, and update BMS software programs, system strategies, and control logics
- Monitor and optimise energy-saving measures for building services (HVAC, lighting, HV)
- Develop and maintain strong customer relations, acting as a trusted advisor across diverse sites
- Conduct rapid diagnostics for fault-finding and resolving reactive service calls efficiently
- Support project execution with stakeholders and teaming with estimators and technical specialists

Requirements & Skills
Experience & Technical Proficiency
✔ Proven experience working with BMS systems and HVAC controls ✔ Familiarity with industry protocols (BACnet, M-Bus, MODBus or similar) ✔ Hands-on experience with Honeywell BMS platforms (preferably Experience™, Speedè, or Conner) is advantageous ✔ Skill in electrical/electronic installation, including control system wiring and cabling
Soft Skills & Compliance
✔ Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to identify faults and implement solutions ✔ Excellent communication (written and verbal) for client reporting and relationship-building ✔ Health & Safety awareness, including relevant risk assessments and procedures ✔ Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a field-based or hybrid environment
