BMS Engineer
About The Role
The role of the BMS Engineer is to ensure the effective operation of the site’s Building Management System providing expert knowledge, guidance and support in its operation and to ensure the safe and timely completion of planned and reactive maintenance of the Building Management System. The BMS engineer will work closely with the other engineers, team leaders and managers to deliver continued support of building services, to ensure minimum down time, increased efficiency and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out reactive work and maintenance PPM’s to the on-site BMS system.
- Complete PPM work orders on time and submit to BMS manager for sign off.
- Troubleshoot and BMS/HVAC related problems and assist site engineering in rectifying faults found.
- Co-ordinate any technical queries from the relevant site teams and TPC representatives.
- Provide technical service and support of the on-site BMS/HVAC system for the maintenance team across the operation.
- Ensure the on-site BMS system is fully operational at all times.
- Support all site teams with Technical and Operational BMS/HVAC issues.
- Assist with the development of the on-site BMS/HVAC strategy as and when required.
- Maintain the on-site BMS Networked System.
- Control access to the on-site BMS System.
- Participate in the continuous development of the customer service by appropriate & timely communication with the customer.
- Promote the FM team culture by team working with colleagues and subcontractors

What You’ll Need
- Proven experience in a BMS engineering/technical role is required.
- A BMS apprenticeship or experience of working on Johnson Controls Metasys BMS systems at a technical level is preferred but not essential as training will be provided to a suitably qualified and competent individual.
- A good working knowledge of HVAC systems is beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent IT skills with networking knowledge is required and a good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power-point, etc is beneficial.
- Previous experience in an FM environment is desirable.
- An understanding of current Health and Safety regulations and the ability to work unsupervised.
- The ability to work to prescribed service level agreements.
