Introduction /Background
Switch2 is the market leader in the provision of bespoke energy metering, monitoring, and billing services to high energy users such as hospitals, factories, residential apartments, commercial properties, and industrial sites. Our client portfolio contains local authorities, universities, factories, housing associations, private landlords, and utility energy suppliers. The company is now entering an exciting new business sector and has already won over a dozen major contracts with large public sector property developers who now have to consider renewable energy to obtain planning permission for new build projects.
Candidate requirements
This role will be working alongside our Product Support team to integrate BMS with our existing Energy Management System (EMS) and improve operational efficiency across our plant room optimization and maintenance programme.

We are looking for a hands-on individual with an eye for detail and an openness to exploring new solutions to improving processes and efficiency. While the role will have a ‘remote-first’ approach and look to implement desk-based solutions from Shipley wherever possible, travel across the UK may be required where a remote solution is not available.
Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with a range of BMS system providers, including Trend, Tridium, Schneider, and Priva
- Understanding of plant room operations to identify critical dependencies and single point of failure
- Hands-on experience integrating systems into BMS platforms, particularly Trend
Desirable
- Previous experience in heat network industry
- Excel skills
- Knowledge of firmware upgrades, data validation techniques, and IoT networking

Responsibilities
- Writing and implementing alarm strategies in line with Switch2’s logic
- Monitoring BMS portfolio from office including alarms
- Reviewing control strategies to identify and implement opportunities for optimization and decarbonisation
- Conducting router installs across portfolio to maintain internet connectivity
- Work and communicate across internal departments, including Product Support, Client Accounts, and Commercial Engineering
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency with a remote-first approach to resolution
- Support internal teams in interpreting and troubleshooting metering data issues
