BEMS Service & Maintenance Engineer

Location

London & South East (site-based) + some remote diagnostics/admin

Salary

£40,000 - £50,000 dependent on banding and experience

Contract

Full-time, permanent

Department

Engineering — Service & Aftercare

The role

Imperium designs and delivers Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) for high-end residential and complex building environments. Once a system is handed over, we stay accountable for keeping it stable, efficient and supportable, and that’s where you come in.

As a BEMS Service & Maintenance Engineer, you’ll look after live customer systems post-handover: planned maintenance, reactive fault response, optimisation, and small improvement works. You’ll work across varied BMS systems, interacting with panels, networks, field devices and building plant, and you’ll leave sites better than you found them.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver planned maintenance visits: system health checks, alarms, schedules, trend reviews, backups, and reporting
  • Diagnose faults and restore service across software, wiring/panels, devices, comms networks and plant interfaces
  • Use trend data and building behaviour to improve stability, comfort, and energy performance
  • Produce clear service reports and maintain accurate “as maintained” documentation and backups
  • Communicate clearly with clients and facilities teams, setting expectations and keeping people informed
  • Identify lifecycle improvement opportunities (repairs, upgrades, enhancements) and explain the value clearly

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
