About The Role
Sytner BMW Stevenage is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Bodyshop Apprentice Technician to join our highly skilled team. This apprenticeship is the ideal route for someone passionate about vehicle repair and technology, who wants to learn every aspect of modern accident repair within an industry-leading bodyshop environment.
As an Apprentice Bodyshop Technician, you will work towards achieving an Accident Repair Technician qualification, which covers paint, panel, and MET (Mechanical, Electrical, and Trim). This comprehensive training will ensure you become multi-skilled, giving you the knowledge to understand every area of the bodyshop and discover where your strengths and passions lie.
You will gain practical, hands-on experience at our Sytner Stevenage Bodyshop, supported by expert colleagues, while also completing specialist training blocks at the BMW Group Training Academy. This combined learning approach ensures you develop both technical expertise and a deep understanding of BMW and MINI standards of quality.
As an Apprentice MET Technician, you will learn how to:
- Remove and refit vehicle mechanical, electrical, and trim components.
- Assist with vehicle repairs following accident damage.
- Use specialist tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Work to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Support the Bodyshop team in delivering exceptional quality repairs.

As an Apprentice Paint Technician, you will learn how to:
- Prepare vehicles and panels for painting.
- Mix and apply paint using industry-leading equipment.
- Carry out colour matching and finishing processes.
- Repair minor paint defects.
- Deliver a high-quality finish to premium vehicles.
About You
This role would suit someone who:
- Has or is expecting to achieve GCSE grade A-C / 9-4 or Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalent) * in English, Maths, and 1 other subject as a minimum requirement.
- Is passionate about automotive technology, problem-solving, and working with their hands.
- Is curious and eager to learn a variety of disciplines, from paint to panel and MET.
- Shows attention to detail and takes pride in delivering quality work.
- Is a great team player, reliable, and motivated to succeed.
No previous experience is required - just a genuine interest in vehicles and the drive to start a rewarding career.
When applying for this role, please consider that we require candidates to have obtained GCSE grade A*-C/9-4 or Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalent) in the following subjects: English, Maths, and 1 other subject as a threshold level of qualification.
