About Albyn
Albyn Housing Society serves an ever-growing number of communities in the Highlands, providing good quality, affordable housing for thousands of people across the region. For over five decades Albyn has listened and responded to the views of its customers, local government, communities and businesses in meeting housing needs in the Highlands.
The Highlands faces a significant housing challenge, with an estimated 24,000 new homes required over the next decade to support population and economic growth, including opportunities arising from Green Freeport status. In response, Albyn’s Board took a strategic decision in 2024 to develop over 600 new homes over the next five years, positioning the organisation to play a leading role in addressing this demand.
We are a customer-focused, forward-looking organisation driven by a culture that places our tenants at the heart of decision-making, supported by a commitment to inclusion, accountability and continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
