Company Description
The End of Life Partnership (EOLP) is a mission-driven charity working across health, social care, and communities to improve experiences at the end of life. The organization delivers expert education, training, consultancy, data insight, and community engagement to promote compassionate, personalized care. EOLP’s work ranges from professional development in areas such as communication, dementia, and leadership, to system-level consultancy and evaluation that drives real change. The team combines lived and professional experience, collaborating in hospitals, hospices, care homes, boardrooms, and community settings. Based in Cheshire and supporting professionals and communities in Cheshire East, EOLP has a growing ambition to extend its impact across the UK.
Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid Board Trustee role based in the Cheshire/North-West Area, with some flexibility to work from home. The Board Trustee will provide strategic oversight, governance, and support to ensure EOLP fulfills its mission, vision, and values. Responsibilities include:

- Attending and contributing to board and committee meetings
- Reviewing reports and performance data
- Helping to shape long-term strategy, risk management, and financial sustainability
- Acting as an ambassador for EOLP, building relationships with stakeholders, supporting fundraising and partnership activities where appropriate
- Championing good governance and ethical practice
- Offering constructive challenge and guidance to the leadership team
- Upholding regulatory and legal responsibilities
- Promoting inclusive, person-centered approaches to end of life care

Qualifications
- Strategic governance skills, including experience with board-level decision-making, risk oversight, and long-term planning.
- Financial literacy and the ability to understand budgets, management accounts, and charity financial controls.
- Experience or strong interest in health, social care, hospice, community development, or related sectors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, question, and contribute constructively in group settings.
- Commitment to EOLP’s values of being compassionate, confident, honest, positive, and professional, with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical insight, and to work collaboratively with other trustees and the leadership team.
- Capacity to commit time for board meetings, preparation, occasional events, and stakeholder engagement in a hybrid working model.
- Previous trustee, non-executive, or senior leadership experience is desirable but not essential; lived experience of end of life care is welcomed.
