Salford Pride is looking for new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the charity through its next chapter.

We're a registered, volunteer-led charity best known for delivering The Pink Picnic, Salford's annual Pride celebration. Alongside this, we run events, projects and community initiatives throughout the year that celebrate, support and advocate for LGBTQ+ people across Salford. As we continue to grow, we're looking for people who can bring their professional skills, experience and fresh ideas to our Board.

We're currently recruiting for Trustees with experience in one of the following areas:

Treasurer – Charity finance, accounting or auditing. Applicants for this role should have experience using QuickBooks.

Trustee (Events & Projects) – Planning and delivering large-scale events or managing projects from start to finish.

Trustee (Human Resources) – Recruitment, HR compliance, employee or volunteer engagement, and people management.

Trustee (Public Relations) – Media Relations, Communications, Reputation Management, and Public Engagement.

What does a Trustee do?

Our Trustees are responsible for the overall leadership and governance of Salford Pride. Together, the Board sets the charity's strategic direction, makes sure we're meeting our legal and financial responsibilities, and helps ensure we're delivering the greatest possible impact for our community.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Because we're a small charity, this isn't a role where you simply attend meetings and make decisions. Our Trustees are actively involved, working closely with our volunteer committee to support the organisation and help overcome challenges as they arise.

Most of the role can be carried out from home, but Trustees are expected to attend two in-person meetings per month in Salford, along with occasional events throughout the year.

The time commitment is around 6 to 8 hours per week, and we're looking for people who can commit to the role for at least 12 months.

Who we're looking for

We're interested in hearing from people who are passionate about making a difference and can bring professional knowledge and strategic thinking to our Board.

You might have experience in:

  • Charity governance, board or committee roles, or leadership within the voluntary or community sector.
  • Financial management, budgeting, auditing or risk management.
  • Events, project management, fundraising, marketing or communications.
  • Building partnerships, engaging communities and developing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion, with an understanding of the issues affecting LGBTQ+ communities.
  • Human resources, organisational development or volunteer management.
