With over 11,000 members, we are committed to tackling climate change and promoting sustainable solutions through events, training, publications, and policy work.
The Role

You will work closely with our Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team. Responsibilities include:
- Helping set a long-term vision
- Overseeing the financial health
- Ensuring compliance with our legal and constitutional frameworks
Requirements
Essential
- Passion for environmental issues
- Understanding and willingness to serve as a non-executive director in a voluntary capacity
- Experienced accountant, preferably with experience leading commercial financial decisions
- Must be articulate, prepared to challenge assumptions, and capable of informed decision-making for the benefit of CIWEM and its members
Commitment
- Up to 6 board meetings annually (in-person in London or Midlands, plus online)
- A full-day strategy review meeting (in-person)
- Potential requirement to chair a committee
- Attendance at key CIWEM events and active engagement in communications and discussions
