Arnold Clark Coachbuilders is seeking an experienced and motivated Vehicle Bodyshop Chargehand to join our team in East Kilbride.

This is a hands-on role combining panel beating and paint operations with workshop supervision and estimating responsibilities. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day management of the bodyshop, ensure repairs are completed to the highest standard, and assist with preparing accurate repair estimates.

Hours

Full time: Monday – Friday 8am – 5.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am – 12pm

  • Carry out high-quality panel repairs, preparation and paintwork as required.
  • Supervise and support bodyshop technicians to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Assess vehicle damage and prepare repair estimates and job costings.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments regarding repair requirements.
  • Monitor job progress and ensure repair timescales are achieved.
  • Maintain quality control standards throughout the repair process.
  • Assist with workshop planning and allocation of work.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a Panel Beater or Vehicle Painter.
  • Previous supervisory, team leader or chargehand experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing repair estimates using industry estimating systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle repair methods and bodyshop processes.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple jobs.
  • Full UK driving licence.
