We’re looking for passionate, energetic, and driven individuals to join our team as Back of House (BoH) Team Members at Slim Chickens in Newcastle. If you love creating delicious Southern-inspired chicken dishes, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, and enjoy working collaboratively, we’d love to hear from you!
About the Role
Slim Chickens serves up fresh, southern-inspired chicken tenders, wings, and sandwiches in a casual, vibrant atmosphere. As a Back of House Team Member, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly while maintaining the quality and energy that guests love.
Responsibilities
- Preparing & Cooking: Create menu items from scratch, paying meticulous attention to detail to meet our high standards.
- Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen, adhering to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
- Inventory & Supply: Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ensuring freshness of ingredients.
- Teamwork & Coordination: Work alongside your team to prepare and deliver orders accurately and on time.
- Equipment Care: Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Collaboration: Support kitchen operations, contribute to a positive team environment, and help everyone thrive.
- Adaptability: Be ready to assist with various tasks, ensuring smooth workflows during fast-paced operations.

What We’re Looking For
✔ A true food lover with a passion for cooking and quality dishes ✔ Sharp attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely ✔ Comfortability working under pressure in a dynamic, fast-moving kitchen ✔ Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset ✔ Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and bank holidays ✔ Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory—enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a willingness to learn are essential!
