Chargehand – Boning Hall, Bridge of Allan

About the Role

Reporting to the Boning Hall Manager, we are looking for a Chargehand to join our team at Bridge of Allan to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Boning Hall, including provision of holiday/absence cover.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all production requirements are met as directed by the Boning Hall Manager
  • Supervise the team and guarantee jobs are completed according to customer specifications
  • Drive continuous efficiency improvements and complete all required documentation
  • Maintain excellent communication to keep the team highly motivated
  • Assist in guiding the team, ensuring all work adheres to correct and safe procedures
  • Foster a pleasant, efficient, and collaborative work environment
  • Liaise with Supervisors on product quality issues
  • Ensure compliance with Company Health and Safety Policy at all times
  • Uphold safe working practices and company training standards
  • Work with an agreed training plan, reporting any skill gaps/difficulties to management
  • Maintain knowledge of expected standards and targets before starting any tasks
  • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is correctly worn, maintained, and defects reported
  • Boning/processing product to meet specifications while also optimising yield and minimising waste
  • Report equipment/machinery issues to the Boning Hall Management
  • Strict adherence to Company Hygiene Policy
  • Attendance at role-relevant training and development courses as required
  • Any additional duties as needed

Knowledge & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume production factory environment
  • Experience in managing or supervising people (ideal but not mandatory)
  • Proactive, dynamic, and motivational with a focus on delivering results in a fast-moving setting
