About Direct Medics

Last year, we were proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary, marking a quarter-century of placing healthcare professionals in locum roles across both the public and private sectors in the UK and Ireland. Our long-standing reputation speaks to the trust and reliability we’ve built within the healthcare sector.

The Role

The Booking Consultant is responsible for coordinating and managing the allocation of healthcare professionals into temporary shifts and placements across the UK and Ireland.

The role exists to maximise shift coverage, ensure optimal candidate utilisation, and maintain high levels of client satisfaction by filling vacancies quickly and reliably.

The Booking Consultant acts as the operational link between clients, candidates and recruitment consultants, ensuring shifts are filled efficiently, changes are managed proactively, and service delivery standards are consistently maintained. This role will also include working weekends, on a shift pattern.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
