# Bookkeeper – Permanent Role in Peterborough Office (TC Bulley Davey Ltd)

Role Overview

📍 Location: Peterborough office (TC Group) 🕙 Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, flexible hybrid working available after probationary period 💼 Contract Type: Permanent 📊 Salary: Competitive, based on experience 🎒 Holiday: 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), increasing by one day per year (max 5 additional days after 4+ years)

We’re looking for a Bookkeeper to join TC Bulley Davey Ltd—your dedicated role will revolve around offering high-quality bookkeeping support tailored to our diverse client base.

This is an exciting opportunity to build strong client relationships while honing and expanding your technical expertise, playing a pivotal role in delivering success for both clients and your team.


Key Responsibilities

You’ll contribute to the financial health of our clients, ensuring accurate and compliant financial records. Your core duties will include:

  • Carrying out bank reconciliations using relevant accounting software
  • Using automation tools to import, match and post invoices accurately
  • Regularly reconciling sales and purchase ledgers
  • Maintaining up-to-date accounting records for compliance
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns for a portfolio of clients
  • Serving as the first point of contact for all bookkeeping-related client queries
  • Attending client premises to undertake on-site bookkeeping duties
  • Collaborating with clients directly, including liaising with HMRC as needed
  • Managing day-to-day administrative tasks efficiently

About You

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice
  • AAT qualified or a recognised route to qualification (or qualified by experience)
  • Strong expertise in Xero, with exposure to QuickBooks (QBO), Fathom and Dext
  • Independent yet collaborative approach: self-starter who can liaise directly with clients and work effectively in a team
  • Reliable time management skills: handling workloads under tight deadlines and maintaining accuracy even under pressure
  • Hyper-organised, detail-oriented mindset with a client-first attitude
  • Tech-savvy: full confidence using advanced software and tools to enhance efficiency
  • Professional, approachable demeanour when interacting with clients
  • Motivated, proactive attitude with a can-do mindset
