Location: Coventry (On-site / Hybrid)
Salary: £26,000–£30,000 DOE
Contract: Permanent – Full-time and Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week)
Holiday: 30 days

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Coventry. Supporting a diverse portfolio of SME and international clients, this is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, cloud-based environment where accuracy, client service, and continuous improvement are highly valued.

Working within a supportive pod structure, you will partner closely with Client Account Managers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of bookkeeping services across a varied client base.

The Role

As Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries.
  • Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Completing bank, supplier, and control account reconciliations.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
  • Assisting with payroll processing where required.
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Liaising with colleagues to resolve client queries and deliver an exceptional service.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • 2–4 years' bookkeeping experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero.
  • Experience using Dext or similar cloud-based bookkeeping software.
  • A solid understanding of VAT and core accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to manage your workload independently while working effectively as part of a team.
