Hays Accountancy & Finance is supporting an Ipswich-based organisation who are seeking a Xero finance professional to rebuild their management reporting, audit the nominal ledger, reconcile balance sheet accounts, produce management and year-end accounts in an ongoing temporary assignment for 3-4 months.

Your new role

An exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance professional with strong Xero experience to support an organisation through a critical finance transformation and year-end period. Reporting directly to the Finance Lead, you will take ownership of financial reporting, ledger integrity, account management production, and system improvements, helping establish robust financial processes for the future.

The tasks will be varied and challenging, covering areas such as:

  • Conduct a full audit and review of the nominal ledger
  • Investigate and resolve ledger discrepancies
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data
  • Xero Systems & Process Improvement
  • Act as the organisation's Xero subject-matter expert
  • Review and optimise the current Xero setup
  • Design and implement improved reporting structures
  • Support the integration and implementation of finance add-on applications
  • Lead the introduction of a Purchase Order (PO) system

What you'll need to succeed

You will possess advanced proficiency in the use of Xero, including report writing and system configuration, alongside experience of management accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory accounts. Ideally, you will be capable of reviewing, auditing and cleansing nominal ledger data, whilst utilising advanced Excel and financial reporting skills to deliver accurate and insightful financial information.

This role would suit an experienced AAT-qualified or QBE finance professional with excellent management accounting and Xero systems skills.

What you'll get in return

As this will be an interim role, you will be paid an hourly rate based on a salary range of £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
