Bookkeeper

SO52 / Southampton Area

Part-time, 3 days per week, flexible.

Salary: £18,000-£24,000 DOE

Supporting the growth of a fast-moving property investment business

Our client, Building Futures Ltd, is a growing property investment and development business focused on transforming tired and underutilised properties into high-quality homes across Dublin. Built around a strong entrepreneurial mindset and ambitious growth plans, the business combines investment, refurbishment and operational delivery within a fast-paced environment.

They are now seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day finance operation across a growing portfolio of property entities and projects.


Bookkeeper, the role:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities and SPVs
  • Processing purchase invoices, sales invoices and credit notes
  • Completing bank, credit card and intercompany reconciliations
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable ledgers
  • Recording and tracking rental income across the property portfolio
  • Monitoring refurbishment and renovation costs by project
  • Maintaining acquisition, disposal and fixed asset records
  • Preparing VAT returns and supporting compliance activity
  • Supporting payroll processing and employee expenses
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts and reporting
  • Producing cashflow reports and supporting forecasting activity
  • Supporting the Finance Director with ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Liaising with external accountants, solicitors and other stakeholders
  • Supporting process improvements and finance administration across the business

Bookkeeper, the person:

  • 2–3 years’ bookkeeping experience within an SME or owner-managed business
  • Strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge
  • Experience using Xero, Sage or similar accounting systems
  • Strong Excel / spreadsheet capability
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced and evolving business
  • Confident communicator with a proactive approach
  • Property, construction or real estate sector experience preferred
  • Positive, resilient and commercially minded mindset

Desirable:

  • Experience with SPV or holding company structures
  • Exposure to project costing or refurbishment accounting
  • AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA / CPA Ireland
  • Understanding of Irish VAT or property-related finance processes
