Part Time Bookkeeping Assistant
TPF Recruitment is supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Chichester with the recruitment of a Part Time Bookkeeping Assistant to join their supportive bookkeeping team.
- Role Summary This office-based position offers approximately 22.5 hours per week, flexible across 3, 4, or 5 days. Ideal for someone with strong attention to detail seeking experience in an accountancy practice environment.
About the Role
As a Bookkeeping Assistant, you will assist the bookkeeping team in processing financial records using various accounting software systems with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Process large volumes of client documentation accurately into accounting systems (primarily Sage), including:
- Matching, batching, and coding client documentation
- Ensuring correct VAT treatment for transactions
- Input and reconcile client expenses and bank transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records and support Bookkeeping Manager with general tasks
- Assist the team in meeting client deadlines and maintaining high service standards
- Undertake additional duties as required by the practice

Requirements
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy standards
- Excellent organisational skills to manage workload efficiently
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles or willingness to learn
- Advantageous: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, Dext, QuickBooks)
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work collaboratively
- Previous experience in accountancy/bookkeeping environments would be beneficial, although not mandatory
