Counter Lead – Job Description
About the Role
The Counter Lead is responsible for supporting the Brand in driving sales turnover and market share through a consistent consumer-focused approach. They play a pivotal role in upholding brand values while enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
Brand & Consumer Experience
- Reflect a credible and professional Brand image to both internal and external stakeholders at all times.
- Maximise sales through consistent selling, delivering excellent service, and maintaining high retail standards.
- Align operations with store/Brand/Company Procedures & Guidelines to boost efficiency.
- Stay informed about daily/weekly targets and ensure awareness of additional sales channels, including:
- Event-based sales
- Omni channels
- Digital engagement
- Monitor competitor activities and identify missed opportunities.
- Effectively leverage social media to drive brand growth, protect its reputation, and enhance engagement.
- Implement and deliver the Brand Strategy, ensuring local alignment and execution of key plans.
- Plan and execute local marketing & event initiatives in sync with retailer activities.
- Foster a culture of excellent service execution, ensuring:
- Continuous improvement in service levels.
- A zero consumer complaint mindset.
- A "surprise and delight" approach to customer engagement.
- Act as a Brand Ambassador, leading by example and ensuring brand values are embodied.
- Manage refunds and complaints in line with company guidelines, collaborating with Area Managers as needed.

Operations & Compliance
- Maintain high standards in:
- Product presentation
- Housekeeping
- Displays and messaging
- Pricing accuracy
- Conduct daily retail standard reviews to ensure adherence to policies.
- Oversee timely execution of:
- Deliveries
- Stock movements
- Associated administrative workflows
- Ensure all compliance processes and payments align with company guidelines.
- Address risks in audited areas and implement corrective actions.
- Accurately fulfil information requests within deadlines.
- Minimise stock loss by strictly following Company Security Policies & Procedures.
- Cultivate a safe working environment for consumers, adhering to both company and retailer policies.
- Maintain health & safety compliance, ensuring minimum ‘Acceptable’ ratings in audits.

Commercial Excellence
- Manage daily replenishment, taking corrective actions where necessary.
- Optimise sales performance using all available commercial reports for data-driven decisions.
- Design and implement visual merchandising layouts within guidelines and timelines.
- Resolve stock package issues, escalating unresolved concerns to the Area Manager when needed.
- Ensure compliance with promotions and discounts per company guidelines.
- Identify market trends and provide actionable suggestions to enhance product performance.
Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Experience in a fast-paced retail or consumer-facing environment.
- Strong ability to drive self-development.
- A commercial understanding and awareness of the industry.
