About the Role
We are currently looking for a Bot Workshop Trainee Technician to join our team at Ocado’s CFC in Erith.
The Bot Workshop team are responsible for the diagnosis and repair of Ocado robot sub-assemblies and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), as well carrying out Root Cause Analysis to help deliver continuous improvement to Ocado’s robot infrastructure.
This role will be focussed on the testing and repair of the Robot sub-assemblies and PCBs on a daily basis, and ensuring quality, fully operational spares are available for use to support the operation.
What you will be doing
- Test and repair mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies, including printed circuit boards, ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to procedures.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Stores team to maintain a steady supply of sub-assemblies.
- Update work records, task details, and parts usage.
- Participate in training for internal processes, testing, and repairs.
- Work with internal departments to improve processes and enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Analyze data to enhance equipment performance and provide reports as needed.

About you
- A technical ability and understanding relating to automation hardware and equipment with experience in dismantling, diagnosing, repair and quality testing of your own and others’ work is desirable but not essential
- Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem solving ability
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to impart knowledge effectively to others
- Good organisation skills, able to prioritise
