Botanical Specialists (Multiple Roles from Consultant to Principal Level)

Contract Type: Permanent - full time or flexible.

Location: UK-wide offices and home-working, plus travel for fieldwork.

About RSK Biocensus

RSK Biocensus is a friendly and supportive team of ecologists working on a wide range of projects across the UK. Our work spans multiple sectors, including development, construction, and conservation projects with a focus on technical excellence, evidence-based decision making, and practical, pragmatic solutions. Much of the day-to-day botany work involves plant identification, habitat classification, evaluation and assessment, ecological impact assessment, biodiversity net gain, and plans for construction, landscape, management, and monitoring.

Our ecologists work as a nationwide team, and each ecologist has a unique set of skills and competencies. Though our ecologists are spread across the UK attached to local offices, you would be part of a supportive national team of botanists.

Overview

Here at RSK Biocensus, we are looking for people to join and strengthen our botanical team. There is flexibility around the skills that you might offer and your preferences for office or home-based working and the split of field and desk-based time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
