Role Description
The Boundary Box Installer role is a contract, on-site position based in Greater Nottingham. The installer will be responsible for fitting and setting boundary boxes for utility services, ensuring accurate placement, secure installation, and compliance with company and industry standards.

Daily tasks include:

- Reading site plans
- Preparing work areas
- Carrying out excavation where required
- Installing boundary boxes and associated fittings
- Reinstating surfaces in a safe and tidy manner
The role also involves:
- Conducting basic inspections
- Recording installation details
- Communicating with site supervisors and other trades
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures
The successful candidate will work across various sites, sometimes in changing weather conditions, and must consistently meet agreed timeframes and quality benchmarks.
Qualifications
- Practical experience in utility installation, civil engineering, or groundwork, preferably involving boundary boxes, service connections, or related infrastructure.
- Knowledge of basic construction and utility industry standards, including safe excavation practices and correct use of tools and equipment.
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations, including the ability to follow risk assessments, method statements, and site safety rules.
- Ability to read and understand simple technical drawings, site plans, and job instructions, with attention to detail and accurate measurement.
- Reliable work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a site team, managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, colleagues, and contractors, and for reporting progress or issues clearly.
- Current valid driving licence and willingness to travel to different sites in Greater Nottingham and surrounding areas.
- Relevant industry tickets or certifications (e.g., CSCS card, street works qualification, or similar) are highly beneficial.
- Previous experience in the utilities sector or boundary box installation is an advantage but not essential for candidates with strong practical skills.
