We are a dynamic local authority providing essential services to the people of Gloucester. Our main office, based in the Eastgate Centre on Eastgate Street in the heart of the city, is an accessible, modern and light space designed for collaborative working and finding new ways to work. It's all open plan, with a living green wall and other plants without set desks, so you can sit next to someone new every day. We're always looking to improve how we work and we offer flexible and agile working to give our people a great work life balance.

Join the team at Gloucester Guildhall

Gloucester Guildhall is one of the city's leading cultural venues, presenting live music, comedy, cinema, workshops and community events throughout the year. We are looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused Box Office Assistant to join our Visitor Experience team and help ensure every visitor receives a warm welcome and outstanding service. As the first point of contact for many of our customers, you will play a key role in creating a positive experience for everyone who visits, phones or contacts the venue. You'll sell tickets, answer customer enquiries, manage bookings, process refunds and exchanges, maintain accurate records, build shows on the ticketing systems, and help promote the wide range of events and activities taking place across the Guildhall.

About the role...

This is a flexible 18.5-hour per week contract, working primarily Wednesday to Saturday on a rota basis. Shifts will be scheduled around the Guildhall's busy events programme and may include a mixture of daytime and evening working. While the majority of hours will fall between Wednesday and Saturday, there may be occasions when you are required to work on other days to support the programme. Evening shifts will form a regular part of the role, and you may occasionally be required to remain on duty later than your scheduled finish time depending on the end time of an event.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
