Job Title: Brain Health and Dementia Practice Education Lead
Contract: 1 Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week Location: National Centre, 69 North Gyle Terrace, Edinburgh, EH12 8JY Interview Date: 30 July 2026

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our mission is to ensure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide:
- Support and information for people with dementia and their carers/families
- Advocacy for dementia rights
- Funding for vital dementia research
The Role
The Brain Health and Dementia Practice Education Lead will contribute significantly to improving the expertise and practice standards across Alzheimer Scotland’s workforce. Reporting to: Professional Lead for Brain Health Education and Training

Key Responsibilities
- Enhance knowledge and skills of Alzheimer Scotland’s staff and volunteers
- Support the development and delivery of high-quality, engaging learning initiatives
- Embed the Promoting Excellence Framework to ensure rights-based, person-centred support
- Lead on practice-based education, qualifications, regulatory training, and broader workforce development
- Collaborate across the organisation to align training with strategic goals
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Registered healthcare professional (e.g., doctor, nurse, occupational therapist, etc.)
- Proven experience in workforce development
- Exceptional ability to design, develop, and deliver high-quality training programmes
- Experience interpreting and delivering third-party training
- Strong written communication skills to create clear, impactful learning materials
- Demonstrated leadership in planning and implementing objectives
- Commitment to ongoing professional development

Desirable Attributes
- Familiarity with the Promoting Excellence Framework
- Advanced digital and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
