Branch Assistant/Van Driver at Total Plumbing Ammanford

Location: Total Plumbing, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, SA18 2LF

We’re seeking a reliable and customer-focused Branch Assistant/Van Driver to join our Total Plumbing team. If you thrive on the road, enjoy delivering outstanding customer service, and supporting daily operations, this role could be ideal for you.


About The Role

This is a dual role combining both Van Driver and Branch Assistant responsibilities. Your time will be split between:

  • Delivering goods to customers safely and efficiently
  • Supporting branch operations, including serving customers and maintaining a clean, professional environment

You’ll represent Total Plumbing’s standards every day, ensuring safe, adaptable, and professional service across multiple areas of work.


Key Responsibilities

As a Van Driver:

  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections and promptly report any defects.
  • Load and secure all goods, documenting deliveries accurately (including customer signatures).
  • Ensure vehicles remain clean and roadworthy.
  • Deliver products promptly and professionally to customers.

As a Branch Assistant:

  • Provide expert customer service in the retail space, assisting with queries and sales.
  • Support with warehousing tasks (stock preparation, organising inventory).
  • Assist with vehicle loading (including operating a forklift truck with certification).
  • Receive incoming goods, verifying quantities and conditions.
  • Conduct stock checks and participate in periodic stocktakes.
  • Maintain high hygienic and safety standards in both showroom and warehouse spaces.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Proven excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Practical, smart and professional work demeanour with a positive attitude
  • Flexible, proactive approach to multi-tasking in a dynamic, team-based environment
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
  • Forklift certification is highly desirable (training will be provided if required)

Hours: Average 43.25 hours/week (Monday–Friday: 7:30am–4:30pm), plus every other Saturday (8:00am–12:00pm).**

Salary: National Minimum Wage (NMW)
