About Elliotts

Elliotts is an independent builders’ merchant serving customers across the South of England. Founded in 1842, we remain family owned and focused on doing things properly.

We keep things straightforward - know our customers, work safely, deliver reliably, and support each other as a team. Decisions are made locally, close to the work.

The business is led by Tom, the great-great-great grandson of the founder. That long-term, hands-on approach shapes how we operate and how we look after our people.

Many of our team build long careers here. It’s a stable, supportive environment where people take pride in their work and back each other day to day.

What do we ask of you?

Our Branch Managers drive sales, growth and profitability through effective branch operations and brilliant people management. They have the autonomy to ‘own’ how they run things in their branch - we don’t tell them ‘how’ to do it, because we trust them to get the job done, but there’s plenty of support to back them up if they need it. They’re passionate about our core purpose – to help our customers build – and ensure their team live and breathe it every day, so they can do whatever it takes to give amazing service, which sets us apart from our competitors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
