Area Manager (Delivery Hub)
About the Role
You will work seamlessly with the Morning, Twilight, and Night Delivery Managers to support the Area Manager to ensure that Service from your Delivery Hub is best-in-class. You will manage a department that operates with Health, Safety, and Legality, maximising efficiency, availability, and delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Responsibilities
Core Operations
- Ensure accurate replenishment activities, including space checks, effective direct deliveries, and timely bookings for seamless operations.
- Oversee thorough investigations into In Stock Off Sale (ISOS) items.
- Train colleagues in milk and bread ordering to ensure all orders are fulfilled promptly.
Inventory & Compliance
- Optimise Stock Control functions for accuracy.
- Resolve credit issues promptly.
- Ensure Click and Collect is managed efficiently and professionally.
Customer Service Excellence
- Uphold Customer Service standards in your branch and motivate the team to provide swift, professional, and delays-free service.
- Monitor and manage butchery tasks to ensure adherence to Booker’s "Be the Best At" policies, with accurate orders delivered on time.
- Guide colleagues with diary tasks, ensuring they are completed and documented appropriately.
Safety & Standards
- Oversee effective security checks.
- Implement and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, mandatory training, and Health & Safety protocols.
Leadership & Culture
- Lead by example, embodying the Booker Code of Business Conduct and "Win Together" behaviours.
- Build and sustain collaborative relationships, both internally and externally.
- Promote a culture that prioritises Health, Safety, and Legality.
- Champion Diversity and Inclusion, ensuring Everyone Is Welcome in your hub.

Requirements
- Proven track record in team management.
- Exceptional ability to multitask, prioritise, and delegate effectively.
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Deep understanding of customer needs and expectations.
- Experience in a Delivered Operation preferred, though not mandatory.
- Outstanding coaching skills and the ability to holds teams accountable for high standards.
- Talent for spotting and nurturing future capabilities.
- Customer-obsessed mindset with a proven success in delivering quality service.
