Are you a natural leader who loves bringing people together, building relationships and being a visible part of your local community? If you want to lead a branch where success is measured by the difference you make to members and the community, not by hitting a sales target, we would love to hear from you.
On behalf of a respected finance company, we are looking for a full time Branch Manager to lead its Preston branch. This is a genuinely people-first leadership role: you will develop and mentor a small, dedicated team, build the company's profile across Preston and the surrounding area, and make sure everyone who walks through the door has an excellent experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading, mentoring and developing your branch team, helping each person grow and do their best work.
- Being the face of the company in your community. You will build genuine local relationships and partnerships, from delivering financial education in local schools to supporting good causes and attending careers fairs and community events.
- Making sure the branch runs well and that members always receive fair, positive outcomes, in line with the company's standards and regulatory expectations.
- Handling member queries and complaints with care, putting things right and knowing when to escalate.
- Rolling up your sleeves and supporting the team on the front line during busy spells, leading by example.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
