As a City Store Branch Manager, you will:
- Lead your team with commercial focus, championing local trade partners and community relationships.
- Set the tone for outstanding service, embedding speed, quality, and digital convenience.
- Drive performance in customer experience, operations, and staff development.
- Ensure collaboration—both within your team and across the business—to drive innovation and adaptability.
The role requires the ability to commute flexibly between Screwfix City Store locations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Direction
- Lead by example: Inspire and motivate your team to deliver outstanding customer service while ensuring colleagues provide seamless, value-driven support.
- Foster a great store culture: Cultivate an inclusive, valued, and motivated environment where employees thrive.
- Deliver results: Own Profit & Loss (P&L), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and operational priorities—arteries of the store’s success. Adapt quickly to seasonal demand and changing market trends.

Commercial & Strategic Growth
- Ensure the City Store fulfils its commercial potential through strong cost control, sales targets, and profit optimisation.
- Champion digital performance (online sales, patronage, and service efficiency within your region).
- Represent the store during key stakeholder visits, regularly sharing market insights to inform business-wide decisions.
Team & Resource Optimisation
- Foster multi-skilling to enhance team flexibility—colleagues can support a variety of tasks, from retail service to local trade outreach.
- Drive collaboration—empower colleagues to share best practices and solve challenges to benefit both the store and wider Kingfisher Group.
Required Skills & Experience
The ideal Branch Manager will be:
- A proven retail leader with a track record of commercial success in fast-paced, results-driven environments.
- Someone who thrives in dynamic, fast-moving roles where adaptability is key.
- A confident communicator—most effective when leading others and representing the business externally.
- Customer-first mindset: Every decision should put the trade partner and end-user at its heart.
- Talented people leader: Ability to coach, identify potential, and cultivate a positive culture while prioritising staff well-being.
