We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Brand Manager to work as part of our Cereal Partners UK team at our head office in Welwyn Garden City. You will report directly into the Local Brands Marketing Manager, working hand in hand to drive growth across our local brands Shreddies & Shredded Wheat as well as the potential to also lead one of our smaller brands or major NPD launches.
Your impact
As an Assistant Brand Manager, you will be responsible for helping to manage our much-loved Local Brands; Shreddies and Shredded Wheat. You will be expected to help define the brand strategy and build long-term plans to achieve our ambitions aligned with the wider business vision; gaining exposure to all elements of the marketing mix and more. The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Successful development and execution of brand plans, working with the Marketing Manager across our local brands, Shreddies & Shredded Wheat, including leadership of specific initiatives to achieve objectives. In addition, there is also the potential to lead on a smaller brand.
- Using insights and data to uncover key areas of opportunity for your portfolio.
- Ensuring digital, social and eCommerce are embedded in brand/communication plans.
- Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders both Locally and Regionally, to manage all subjects related to the brand. Including Brand Teams, Consumer Insights, R&D, Commercial, CDT (Commercial Development Team), Finance, Supply/Demand Planning.
- Working with external agencies where required, on elements such as media planning, creative, consumer promotions and PR.
- Playing an active role in the UK brand marketing team to drive synergies across the teams.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of marketing programmes adjusting plans in line with learnings.
- Budget ownership and management ensuring most effective use of spend and attention to eliminating waste.
- Managing packaging artwork changes and communication.
- Closely monitoring industry and competitor activity, to ensure plans are maintained and adapted in a constantly changing, competitive FMCG environment.

Your ingredients for success
To be successful in this role you will already have some fantastic marketing experience under your belt, and you will already be working in a Brand Manager or Assistant Brand Manager role. You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic environment. Acting as an ambassador for the brands, you will have strong project management and analytical skills. You will need to be highly organised, detailed, conscientious and a team player. Pro-activity and enthusiasm are essential elements for this role.
You’ll also:
- Have the ability to influence at senior levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrate strong presentation skills, targeting a wide audience from customers to internal stakeholders.
- Be able to run sizable, complex projects and work streams from concept to delivery.
- Have prior knowledge of running multi-pronged communications programmes.
- Be able to demonstrate your experience of leading new product launches.
- Experience / track record in using data to evaluate the performance of your brand.
