About the Role…
At Soho House, the Breakfast Chef is the first point of contact in the kitchen each morning. This role involves taking ownership of early-day operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, beautifully presented, and nutritious breakfast dishes.
Core Responsibilities
- Mise en place, stock control, and menu execution during breakfast hours
- Assist with preparation for lunch service (where necessary)
- Prep and plating to company standards
- Setting up and stocking kitchen stations
Key Duties
- Prepare and cook all breakfast dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and timing.
- Ensure mise en place is completed before service.
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
- Uphold health and safety regulations.
- Attend regular meetings with front/back-of-house teams to learn about menu changes/specials and participate in daily tastings.
- Support junior team members (e.g., Prep Chefs) through guidance and collaboration.
- Assist with team meals (considering dietary needs and variety).
- Demonstrate proactivity towards learning, improvement, and teamwork.
- Take full responsibility for the breakfast section, ensuring smooth and timely service, followed by clean-down post-service.
- Properly wrap unused items and store them in designated areas.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a high-profile, busy kitchen environment
- Adept at providing first-class service
- Passion for food, attention to detail, and commitment to personal/professional growth
Key Skills & Attributes
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, respectful kitchen environment
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow direction, function independently, and collaborate
- Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 1 or 2) preferred but not essential
- Competency aligns with Soho House’s training schedule and Club School programs
Salary Range (UK)
£17–£17 GBP (Note: Adjustments may apply based on global market variations.)
