The Role
At Soho House, a Breakfast Chef is the first point of contact in the kitchen each morning, taking ownership of early-day operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, beautifully presented, and nutritious breakfast dishes.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Mise en place, stock control, and menu execution during breakfast hours.
- Assistance with lunch service preparation including:
- Preparing food before service
- Setting up and stocking kitchen stations
- Plating to company standards

Key Duties
- Prepare and cook all breakfast dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and timing.
- Ensure mise en place is completed before service.
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
- Meet health and safety regulations.
- Attend regular team meetings (front and back of house):
- Learn about menu or service changes
- Participate in daily tastings
- Support junior team members (e.g., Prep Chefs) through guidance and collaboration.
- Assist in preparing team meals while considering dietary needs and variety.
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning, improvement, and teamwork.
- Take full responsibility for the breakfast section, ensuring:
- Smooth and timely service
- Clean-down post-service
- Proper wrapping and storage of unused items at the end of service.

What We Are Looking For
A successful Breakfast Chef at Soho House should ideally meet the following criteria:
- Up to 2 years’ experience in a busy, high-profile venue with a natural flair for exceptional service.
- Reliable, friendly, and proactive—key to the driven team seeking success.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2+ years’ experience in similar capacity
- Passion for food, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive, proactive, and respectful attitude in a busy kitchen environment.
Preferred:
- Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 1 or 2).
- Ability to demonstrate competency in Club School training schedule.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to take direction while working effectively in team and autonomous environments.
